Guidelines for integrated water resource Development and Management
The draft guidelines for integrated water resource development and management prepared by CWC have been sent to the World Bank for peer review. The guidelines would be finalized after the receipt of all suggestions/comments as well as the peer review by the World Bank.

Assessment of Future Demand for Water Sector
The requirement of water for various sectors has been assessed by MoWR's "Standing Committee for Assessment of Availabilty and Requirement of Water" in the year 2000 and by the National Commission on Integrated Water Resources Development (NCIWRD) in the year 1999. It is proposed to re-assess the total demand of water for various sectors for the year 2020, 2025,2030,2040 and 2050. As per a decision of the Second Inter-Sectoral Advisory Group for Goal V, a Sub-Committee is to be set up under the National Water Mission and will be assisted by expert organizations like TERI,along with CWC, NWDA & CGWB to re-assess the water demand scenario.
National Workshop on Integrated Water Resources Management
A national workshop on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) was held on 2-3 February, 2015 in New Delhi, India. The workshop was organized jointly by the Central Water Commission, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India, the World Bank Group and the Asian Development Bank. The workshop participants included relevant central and state government officials, national and international experts, and representatives from the two multilateral development banks.
The overall purpose of the workshop was to contribute to the evolving practice of IWRM in India. The specific objectives were to:
(i) share international experiences of IWRM;
(ii) discuss and provide directions for finalizing National IWRM Guidelines; and
(iii) consider potential new IWRM initiatives and investments for India.
